Getting to know you.... well me :)

30 Things You May or May Not Know About Me

While I don't think that learning little facts about me will strengthen your walk with Christ, I do think it will be fun for you to know a little more about the person behind the posts. So here it goes (in no particular order):

1. With both parents re-mar
ried and four siblings married I am one of 17 siblings originally one of 6.

2. I faked needing glasses in 4th grade because I didn't want to do my homework. Now I really need them.
3. Although I have attempted to play several instruments in my life and I was in band in high school for three years (percussion) I am not musically talented at all, despite the fact that most people in my family are!
4. I am really close to my mother's side of the family compared to my father's side (who I grew up within 30 min. of) that only really knows I exist.
5. Although I claimed Christ at the age of 4 on my parents bed one morning I don't think he gave me a new heart and opened my eyes to what He has done for me until my first semester at Bible College.
6. I attended Calvary Chapel Bible College (ccbc) as an alternative to joining the army (I already had a departure date for boot camp) courtesy of my brother and his wife. I can't thank them enough!

7. I only attended ccbc for 1 semester, but I lived there for 2.5 years.
8. I became reformed in doctrine and started to hold to the doctrines of grace while attending ccbc even though they are opposed to it.
9. The first day of bible college I told my room mates that I was going to marry Abraham Juliot, who I barely knew and only briefly spoken to twice before that. 8 months later we got married.

10. April 13, 2012 we will be celebrating 4 years of marriage!
11. We have a firm belief that birth control is in the hands of the Lord, and have never tried to take it into our own hands.
12. We have 3 children and only one living. Asaph John Juliot :)

13. I have been working on knitting a baby blanket for probably almost 3 years and I am still not done!
14. I don't have a drivers license.
15. I have worked at Kmart, Calvary Chapel Conference Center Twin Peaks, and volunteered at Springs of Life books store at ccbc.
16. I am allergic to bee stings (although I don't know how severe of a reaction I can have).
17. I can't tolerate spicy food, but I wish I could.
18. I love Mocha Almond Fudge ice cream.
19. I don't like coffee, and don't drink it.
20. Lord willing I am going to homeschool m children.
21. I am scared to fly on airplanes (not because of 9/11), and I am usually praying tons for safety while in cars.
22. I think it is fun to be girly and get cute for my husband, but I don't like dangly earrings- I feel like they slap my face when I turn my head.
23. I love nature and love being outside.
24. I think I like coloring and playing with blocks more then my son, and he thinks they are both pretty great!
25. Unfortunately I share my birthday with halloween.
26. I think dogs are better then cats.
27. My best friend (besides Abraham and Asaph) lives in South Carolina :(.
28. I prefer fruit over candy or sweets (for the most part).
29. I love to play board games with my family (except Catan- with which they are pretty much obsessed!)
30. I have never had a cavity or a broken bone. Thank you Jesus!

Congratulations if you have made it this far! I hope you feel like you know me a little more then before. Sorry I couldn't post more pictures I ran out of picture space!

Seeking God in Chaos

"11 Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD,

but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake,

but the LORD was not in the earthquake; 12 and after the earthquake a fire,

but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. " -1 Kings 19:11-12

Life gets chaotic. Let us remember that we need to daily take time to stop what we are doing and hear God's voice. Even if it means waking up earlier, going to bed later, or just waiting one more day to _____ (fill in the blank) so we can sit down with God, and hear what He desires to teach us. Sure we can pray without ceasing during our chaotic days- and we should, and yes the Lord is with us always, but if we don't take time to listen to His still small voice then we will surely been worn out more easily and we will go to bed with hungry spirits. Beloved let us remember who our hearts belong to, and why we are here anyways.

"Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him." -Psalm 2:12
